  -Working in collaboration with special education teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and general education teachers to meet the needs and individual IEP goals of children who have mild, moderate, and severe disabilities in a self-contained special education classroom. -Working with children ages 9-14 who have various disabilities including; Down syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, autism, and various cognitive disabilities. -Working with children who have aggressive tendencies, are non-verbal, are fed through a tube, and those who are not toilet trained. -Reading and implementing IEP’s -Create and/or use individualized schedules from check off schedules, picture schedules, transition stations, and non-verbal cue cards. -In charge of using the PCI reading program as a source to teach reading to students as well as documenting progress. In charge of working with students in a group and in individual settings to work on math goals i.e., touch point math, telling time, identifying and counting coins. -Assist in taking students to educational outings such as; grocery stores and restaurants to buy items from a list, practice social skills in a public setting, counting money and paying for items.
