  Española Humane is a 4-Star Rated Charity serving animals in northern New Mexico's poorest communities. Our philosophy is that people love their pets, regardless of income or other life circumstances. We are most proud of our Pet Amigos outreach team, which goes door-to-door in struggling neighborhoods, offering resources to help families make the healthiest decisions for their pets. Pet Amigos is removing dogs from chains, offering scratching posts to cats, distributing leashes and collars for dogs, providing general wellness care and spay/neuter surgeries, and most importantly, keeping loved pets in their homes. Last year our open-admissions shelter received over 3,000 dogs and cats while our clinic provided 6,100 free spay/neuter surgeries.
