2012 - Jan 2016
Project Manager. Living Well with Dementia. Responsible for delivery of one for the 4 national Genio pilot projects (2012-2015) demonstrating an alternative model to supporting people with dementia in Ireland. This challenging and exciting role have given me scope to collaborate across a broad range of statutory, NGOs, voluntary and community groups to develop and deliver community-based support for people with dementia and their families. Some of these award winning psycho-social supports were piloted in Ireland for the first time and received significant national media coverage.Community development and awareness about dementia constituted an important part of my day-to-day work, involving the design of web-presence, project and service information material. My day-to-day interactions included people with dementia, their families, service providers, community groups, senior HSE staff and funding partners. As a start-up, I was responsible for design and tracking of processes relating to budget management, client support and reporting. In my role, I have had the opportunity to facilitate input to national research advising the National Dementia strategy. Encompassing many aspect of a social entreprise model, this role has allowed me to utilize many of my business skills in a community setting and has given me great scope for professional and personal development.
