I had the pleasure of being selected as a participant in Brianna Russell's first Women in Nonprofits coaching program. Over the 6 month course of the program, I gained confidence, insight, and focus which in turn made me a better leader. Month one, I had no idea what I was going to do for my organization 10 year anniversary. By the end of the course, I had a small and powerful team assembled to create my first virtual conference with 55 participants (authors, book influencers, bloggers). It would not have happened without Brianna's guides and support. FemThrived helped me and my non-profit survive and thrive during a pandemic. Forever grateful!

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Brianna for a decade now. We first met through Graduate school at USF and later bonded over our love for soccer and passion for social justice. I genuinely admire Brianna's commitment to social justice and her ability to leverage her unique gifts and lived experiences to create an empowering platform for young women. I was honored to witness Brianna's journey of establishing Girls Leading Girls and humbled to be one of the organization's founding board members. Girls Leading Girls is a San Francisco-based 501c3 non-profit organization that trains young women ages 5-17 in leadership and life skills. The organization has already served 4,000 girls and continues to train girls to be leaders. I have learned that great leaders create space and support to ensure that every person on the team has an equitable opportunity to leverage their unique gifts and talents to contribute to the collective work. Brianna truly embodies this leadership framework by how she approached the design, plan, and execution of the organization and continued work to expand the Girls Leading Girls strategic objectives. I also admire Brianna's determination to achieve her goals. Through the establishment of Girls Leading Girls, Brianna never gave up on the work, despite the various challenges and barriers she faced. She was wise in how she approached each situation and intentional with how she sought counsel. She has always been focused on the ultimate goal/outcome, and she continues to work towards that goal. I am honored to have known and worked with Brianna, and I continue to learn a lot from her. Even with her accomplishments so far, I know that this is just the beginning for Brianna. As a parent of two daughters, I can't wait until my girls can join the Girls Leading Girls community and be provided with the necessary tools and skills to be leaders of their communities.

I have had the pleasure of working with Brianna as a thought partner and mentor for the past five years. Brianna is a thoughtful, dedicated leader that truly believes in the impact of providing leadership through sports to young women. Brianna is always looking at opportunities to improve her leadership skills and ability and takes opportunities for self development. As the founding director of Girls Leading Girls, Brianna has shown that she can take her vision and make it a reality. This takes incredible resilience, entrepreneurial skills and belief in the mission.
