      FOCUS is a program to help young adults 18-26 who have experienced foster care navigate adulthood. FOCUS offers 1:1 mentoring, emergency funds for financial crises, and life skills classes to aid young adults in financial literacy, health and wellness, and career development. The program aids the 2,000 youth and young adults with foster care involvement in Western Massachusetts. As the Director of FOCUS, I: -Worked with community partners statewide to provide workshops for young people who experienced foster care in subjects such as health and wellness, career development, and financial literacy. -Recruited and trained volunteers on an ongoing basis in areas such as intersectionality in the child welfare system, racial equity, domestic violence support and prevention, and gender and sexuality. -Pursued community outreach, recruitment, marketing, volunteer management, event coordination, founding and facilitating the FOCUS Leadership Board, and advocating for Foster Care policy reform through the Children’s League of MA and lived experience-led press conferences.
