I worked with historian Paul Westermeyer to research the role of Marines in Afghanistan from 2004-2006. Mr. Westermeyer used (and continues to use) my research to begin writing a definitive history of Marines in Afghanistan. My research focused on the period from 2004-2006 but it also covered the general history of Afghanistan from the fall of the Soviet Union to the present. My research focused on combat missions, search and cordon missions, and development efforts. I worked with historian Paul Westermeyer to research the role of Marines in Afghanistan from 2004-2006.
