Jess Kubat 💥
Expert - Highly Motivated - Professional I was fortunate to have had the pleasure of working with Brian on SOG's 3P and MAP Enforcement Policies. As someone who was new to the inner workings of Amazon's 1P & 3P platforms, Brian quickly and clearly brought me up to speed on their processes and algorithms. I was amazed not only at the level of knowledge that Brian possesses but also his level of excitement; an excitement grounded in helping manufactures grow on the Amazon platform. During our working time, we would have weekly meetings where Brian would generate detailed information delineating where SOG was in performance and where we needed to be moving forward. From these meetings we laid out a process that allowed us to regain Brand presence and earn the respect from our Independent Retailers. SOG could not have enforced our 3P & MAP Policies without Brian's analysis and expertise which our numbers reflected. As someone who welcomes a challenge, Brian is one in the same. A passionate employee willing to go the extra mile for a retailer and manufacture to succeed on the Amazon platform.

Clearly Golf™ LLC
-

-
Product Development Manager
-
Jun 2008 - Jun 2012
I co-developed a patented golf accessory product called WeatherWick™ for Clearly Golf LLC based in Oceanside, CA. WeatherWick™ is golf accessory iron head cover, but it is anything but ordinary. WeatherWick™ iron head covers are the only golf head covers that help prevent your iron club heads from rusting. From my experience in the retail golf industry, I was able to incorporate high-function, synthetic materials to create a system of layers that quickly "wick" and absorb water, transferring it away from the golf club head. This system is so effective, that you do not have to wipe off any water from your clubs before putting on your WeatherWick™ head covers. • Product Development Lead specializing in soft goods production. • Experience in domestic/overseas sampling and sourcing, production management, and importing logistics from the Guangdong Province, China. • Managed product design synthesis stages focusing on fabrication and production techniques with a domestic CAD design firm, domestic sampling, and the overseas manufacturer to finalize the product concept. This required domestic and international travel. • New Product Design (NPD) included market research and analysis (SWOT) with the marketing team to plan post-NPD commercialization for product launches and sales. • Completed products: WeatherWick(tm) golf iron covers. • Required skills: Excel, Drop Box, Join.me, WordPress, HTML/CSS, Adobe Illustrator, Mail Chimp Show less

General Manager

Feb 2006 - Jun 2008
I was responsible for retail store operations of a 19,000 SQFT, flagship store. Following my passion for the game of golf, I was to apply my skill set in operations and my experience in retail sales with the Golfsmith International family. As a flagship location, the store was unique because it was based on a marketing strategy called the Golfsmith Experience. This was defined by expanded in-store departments, services, and vendor partnerships due to the proximity of the Vista store to headquartered brands like Taylormade/Adidas, Callaway, and Acushnet. • Managed a $2.5M store: 19,000 sq.ft., 6 departments, 3 assistant managers, and 20+ employees. • “Best Store Metrics Performance” winning the Golfsmith Cup in 2006 and 2007 against 70+ stores. • Achieved financial goals by preparing budgets, analyzing P&L and variances, and taking corrective actions. • Maintained store staff individual results by monitoring, coaching, counseling, corrective actions, and appraising job results. • Initiated, coordinated, and enforced program, operational, building and personnel policies and procedures.
