I had a great pleasure of working with Brian back in 2002 to 2004 as architects at Holle & Lin Architects. I stay in touch with Brian simply because he is not only a hard working professional but a stand up guy, a good, honest, sincere and gentle man.

BACKGROUND: U.S. Smoke & Fire manufactures and installs automatic fire-protective smoke curtains and fire shutters. These devices deploy when triggered by fire alarms, smoke detectors, or fusible links. U.S. Smoke & Fire also installs fixed draft curtains for smoke containment in warehouses and aircraft hangars. SUMMARY: Generated over 200 leads per year to create pricing proposals, follow ups, negotiate prices, and win subcontracts SKILLS: Proposal Writing | Lead Generation | CRM | Mentoring ACHIEVEMENTS: ● Increased sales from approximately $1.95M per year to $3.75M per year ● Won roughly 39 contracts per year in 2013 to roughly 75 per year by 2021 ● Produced 100-200 project proposals per year with a success rate of between 25% - 33% ● Mentored a team of 3 estimators ● Reviewed subcontract language ● Drafted shop drawings(AutoCAD LT) ● Presenter at 1 Bond Event As Chief Estimator, I enjoyed solving problems for customers. I worked independently reporting to the owner of the company. I found projects that specified U.S. Smoke & Fire or its competitors. I used online sources such as iSqFt and Building Connected to seek projects. After working with clients such as Whiting-Turner, Clark Construction, Gilbane, and Turner Construction I built a network of contacts with general contractors. I also made leads at trade shows. My architectural background enabled me to peruse architectural drawing sets quickly to develop take-offs. My grant writing experience informed my ability to assemble information into pricing quotations. Once I submitted proposals, I followed up with the contractors to increase the percentage of successful proposals. Once the contractor selected U.S. Smoke & Fire, I connected the rest of our team to the project's pipeline. If needed, I drafted the shop drawings in AutoCAD LT, reviewed the subcontracts, and updated our project manager and construction manager on the project they would shepherd to fabrication and installation.
