I help cyclists improve performance, diminish injury risk, and increase comfort via quantitative bike fit. Using the 3D motion capture Retül technology I am able to 'map' the pedal stroke and position of riders within 1mm of accuracy. Data from an extensive pre-fit physical assessment is applied in session to improve ergonomics and anatomical support. An objective understanding of a rider's position allows for more accurate troubleshooting and a 'custom' position for their application. Past clients include professional racers, new riders, Fortune 500 chief officers, retired civil servants, and everything in between. Sessions are often for road bikes, but my background as an elite cross country mountain bike racer means I enjoy a session with knobby tires, however, the most fruitful and enjoyable fits can often be with individuals recovering from injury and helping these riders get back on the bike is very rewarding.

Mike's Bikes is a regional icon in an area that is know internationally for cycling. At their Palo Alto location, the largest of eleven stores, I manage a demanding client base and lead a staff of ~25 employees towards hitting the sales goals of our store. I specialize in junior associate training and development, as well as proprietary technologies and technical sales. My active approach towards the sales floor helps to demonstrate effective sales techniques and maintain an enjoyable social atmosphere among staff and customers. Although Silicon Valley can present some demanding clients, I greatly enjoy the variability of interactions with customers and appreciate this tech-loving community of cyclists.

As an outdoor enthusiast, I am excited by my work as a content contributor to RootsRated - a national database of locally reviewed trail and nature activities. Working with a co-author, we wrote about adventures in and around Los Angeles. While most trail and wilderness recommendations rely on crowd-sourced reviews from strangers, RootsRated uses local experts; allowing users to know the personal background of the writer. I worked to map the region's best terrestrial and aquatic activities through detailed descriptions and enjoyable photographs.

The Bosco is the product of combining the traditional photo booth with a contemporary start up. Unlike antiquated 'box' photo booths, The Bosco is a minimalist, portable camera that generates a flip-book style animation, a .gif file, that often has custom graphics and/or a backdrop. As a technician I travelled to a variety of events to install and operate the device. This variability required detailed logistical planning and prep prior to the event. Additionally, the events require trouble shooting which often entails technical and software adjustments or adapting to the venue's constraints. The tremendous variation of events and clients is why I began working with the Bosco and what kept me involved while my career path developed.

Working with a Professional Geologist (PG) and Professional Engineer (PE), I performed sampling associated with environmental remediation and development. Primarily I worked sites sampling groundwater, soil, soil gas, and indoor air associated with petrochemical contamination. Additionally, I assisted with soil auger sampling by supervising drill teams, performing the soil sample, and monitoring well installation. I began working with the Occidental College Bikeshare during its first year of operation when it had seven rental bikes and was begining to aquire a workspace. Working with another manager, the Oxy Bike Share rental space tripled in size, a staff development policy was established, our repair area was streamlined, and our rental fleet evolved to become thirty beautiful orange bikes. As sustainable institution, I pushed for employee development in order to ensure a strong future as students graduate. It was a very enjoyable experience with great people and teamwork.

As a summer job in high school, I worked under the Facility Manager at historic Jordan Hall in the Stanford University quad. Jordan Hall houses the department of psychology and is the site of the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment of the 1970s. My roll was to ensure that summer operations were being performed effectively; such as coordinating installations or moves within the building, supplying labs with necessary tools and equipment, maintaining regular office hours, and controlling building access.
