  Project Management services - Providing project management expertise to the Project Delivery Team on Nuclear Decommissioning Projects.Project Life Time Planning (project lifecycle)- Managing work definition, scope and risk reviews. Planning the scope identified in reviews in order to achieve programme objectives. Definition of future FY budgets and project resource requirements (Capital Estimate). This project definition and capital estimate is then used to underpin the Project business case, which includes sanction requirements aligned to the gated process.Project Implementation - Project management of Multi-discipline engineering resource and sub-contractors to deliver the engineering, safety case, plant and equipment. Having a strong awareness of commercial and contractual aspects has allowed me to develop an excellent working relationship between client and sub-contractor to drive the programme of work. Prioritisation and reduction of risks by mitigation and fall back planning. Incorporating risk reduction activities within the project plan.Project controls – Identifying and implementation of change control; evaluating the impact (cost & schedule) and establishing recovery action plans.Reporting – Reporting to programme managers the current status of the project through EV, SV & CV reports. Raising issues, threats and risks to the programme of work and identifying opportunities, successes or missed targets at monthly management meetings.

Experienced in Electron accelerator technology for the production of Synchrotron Radiation (SR) and engineering of SR instrumentation. This includes engineering of in vacuum mechanisms, remotely operated, for SR optical systems (mirror mechanisms and monochromators), engineering of Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) systems for electron accelerators, mechanical engineering associated with Superconducting RF cavity Linear accelerating modules, etc.(2001-Feb 2007) Project/Engineering Manager2001-2003 Project/Engineering Manager responsible for the design, manufacture and construction of IR Beamline 11 at Daresbury Laboratory, a £2 million project. Responsible for the design, Manufacture, Installation and Commissioning of SR instrumentation. This beamline was a proven world leader in IR microscopy. Develope the project plan, including specifications and ensured project was installed to CDM regulations.2003-2007 Project/Engineering manager responsible for the design manufacture and construction of Photo-injector, Accelerating structures and Building & Services work packages associated with the ERLP project at Daresbury Laboratory http://www.4gls.ac.uk/ERLP.htm, a £13 million project. I also developed the overall project plan covering all the work packages required to deliver this project. I also developed functional and procurement specifications for the work packages I was directly involved in.2004 Undertook Standards in Management excellence training.2006-2007 Project/Engineering Manager responsible for the STFC engineering input to the International Super Conducting RF collaboration.
