Great design has to answer great questions. I think that you have to start with empathy…..that idea that you have to see it from another person’s point of view before you can apply your own thoughts to a place. That’s what makes a design most intriguing. What I love about design is the process of unfolding and unpacking. Rarely do you find the right solution early on. It takes thoughts and ideas and drawings. Then you start over and repeat the process till you get that feeling that you’ve finally cracked the code.

Brian served as Managing Principal of the Austin office and was an integral member of TBG Partners from 1991 to 2016, playing an essential role in many of the firm's most successful projects during that time. In addition to leading the Austin office, he played a key role in the firm wide leadership including serving as Practice Director for the firm. He has diverse project experiences that include exemplary and award-winning projects that encompass many project types including healthcare and healing environments, urban infill, corporate and park design. Brian has been committed to the positive growth of Austin for more than two decades and has given back locally through a number of organizations including The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), The Urban Land Institute (ULI) and The Trail Foundation (TTF). He is a licensed Landscape Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional
