DeBergerac Productions, Inc. is a video production, post-production, and film restoration company. My primary focus is in the shooting of interviews and b-roll for documentaries, but my work also includes Avid editing, script writing, and creating motion graphics. My goal when setting up for interviews is to create as relaxed an atmosphere as possible. Most of the people we talk to have never been interviewed on camera before, so I reassure them that we are there to tell there story, and that we will take the time they need to tell it right. My goal behind the camera is to deliver to the editor the best possible images to tell the story. I will seek out those unique angles and perspectives, whether it's climbing onto a roof to get the best angle for an exterior, to crawling inside the workings of a pipe organ to get a craftsman repairing an instrument. Together with my business partner Mike Champlin we built a complete production and post production company from the ground up. I worked as the Director of Photography for our projects, which included documentary films for advancement offices, corporate history videos, customer engagement and new product videos. We worked with a variety of corporate and non-profit clients, including The University of Rochester, The French’s Food Company, The Golisano Children’s Hospital, Johnson &Johnson, Merrill Lynch, Highland Hospital, The Out Alliance, The Wilmot Cancer Institute, and Gilda’s Club.In post we used primarily Avid Media Composer as well as Final Cut. I also created titles and motion graphics using Adobe Suite software, primarily After Effects. We partnered with with the presentation company Cheshire AV, providing them with video productions under their brand. For Cheshire showsI would design large scale graphics using multiple projectors synced using Watchout software. I also directed multi-camera live events and technical directed galas and awards shows.in 2017 I became an FAA licensed drone pilot, part our quest to provide our customers with unique perspectives and original images. My work as an Editor for Kodak involved working with Marketing and Communications specialists on new product videos, training films, and "sizzle reels," high energy pieces used to pump up the sales force. From a script I would track down assets throughout the world-wide company and then assemble all the pieces into a finished video, including custom animations, titles, and backgrounds created in After Effects, while following Kodak's very strict guidelines for brand presentation, color and logo use. My camera work included in-studio testimonials with the Kodak CEO and other corporate executives, location productions with models and actors using new products in a "natural" setting, as well as painstakingly set and lit product shots of Kodak cameras and printers. One of the more challenging shoots was one of Kodak's Oscars for use by the Entertainment Imaging group. Show less

I shot and edited stories for a weekly, in-depth news program, "WXXI Reports." The work involved shooting multiple interviews and capturing b-roll for several on-going stories. I applied the "48 Hours" approach to interviews, using one camera moving hand held around the subjects, One memorable interview required me to walk backwards down the Erie canal path for over a mile. I was also involved in story development, and one of my stories went on to win the Communicator Award form the NY Bar Association. Show less
