The history books dates Pisco to 1532 with the Spaniards arrival to the Andeans, and their introduction to Pisco. Peruvians are proud to have invented Pisco, although Chileans hotly contest the origin, we find the Peruvians more compelling, and their distillation process more refined and sophisticated in taste. During the Gold Rush of 1848, Peruvian Pisco made its way North to San Francisco, where it gained celebrated fame and popularity, and the invention of the Pisco Punch cocktail. Formally, Pisco is defined as a grape brandy, for which the harvest of only certain grapes from controlled regions can be used to distil true Pisco. We at Squaw BevCo have spent years working in Peru and were fascinated with the finest of Piscos. We came to discover BelleVista Pisco, a seven generation Pisco Bodega, family owned and run, devoted to distilling only the finest of Piscos. Since 1753, the family legacy has refined a proprietorial process of distillation, offering Piscos only found in the top influential restaurants of Peru.We now proudly announce our brand, PISCO K 1753, distilled in collaboration with BelleVista, honoring their founding year, and artfully bottled in custom Venetian glass.
