Reporting to Manager Core Power Systems, manage operation and maintenance of power systems equipments;generators, rectifiers, UPS, batteries, mains, etc. to ensure continuous and constant power supply to telecom equipment in Core Exchanges; Madang, Ela Beach, Waigani. My current job requirement encompasses electrical power projects designs, planning, scope of works & requirements, project managing and coordination, etc. to ensure work is executed to Telikom PNG regulations and Instructions complying with AS/NZS Electrical Standards and PNG Power Trade Circulars and under defined time and budget. I was also overseeing the power works (Generators, Solar/Battery, Rectifier, Inverters, Utility AC systems) to support the Company’s new high capacity network projects roll-out nationwide for ten months. I basically liaise with our local/international contractors for installations, configurations associated with the high-tech Eltek Power Rectifier systems and coordinate materials and logistics, allocate local ground specialised labour required for each site. I am involved from site survey and acquisition, design, materials mobilisations, logistics, construction and operation of the telecom power systems. My recent achievement was project scoping, design, tendering and managing the installation of a 150kVA Standby Generator to power the company's 27 Unit accomodation at Minihi Avenue Boroko where the system is now in operation. I began from designing the scope of works and requirements of the project, generator & equipment sizing and costing, writing contract and tender documents to contractor assessment and selection to build the project. The very last major project accomplished for Telikom PNG Ltd was a complete Earthing System upgrade for the telecom tower at Madang Exchange. The Earth Mesh system was started from design & planning, fabrication and then construction. The overall result achieved was a reduction of 54 kilo ohms earthing resistance reading to a 0.24 ohm.
