I've had the pleasure of working with Brian for over four years at Soles4Souls. When I first started at Soles4Souls, Brian was the established leader over our small but mighty Creative and Communications team, where everything from branding, advertising and marketing, to PR, website management and photography fell onto his shoulders. In this role he excelled tremendously, bringing our medium sized nonprofit organization to a global level. Brian is a superb communicator and knows how to work across teams with all personalities and levels of people. He always took the time to explain the "why", to share his knowledge and bring everyone to the same page. Later on, I was able to work directly with Brian on our Community Partnerships team, where he showcased his leadership and sales qualities, bringing our mission to a local level and being responsible for managing all on the ground operations for the state of Oregon. Brian excels in his roles because he is collaborative, dedicated, a constant learner, and leads with a servant heart.

I have had the pleasure of working with Brian at Soles4Souls for the past six years. When I joined the Soles4Souls team, Brian was already a tenured employee and leader at our organization. He led our lean, dynamic Creative and Communications team. This was a highly cross-functional space, as all departments depended on Brian and his team to brand, market and communicate our mission and its impact in a transparent, meaningful and consistent way. Brian has always had a clear-eyed assessment and understanding of who we were as a mission, and beholden to the people we serve. Most noteworthy was Brian’s leadership during periods of organizational change. I have appreciated how he balanced thoughtfully designing our creative and communication strategies in advance with a flexible and open-minded approach as new questions or ideas arose within each department or organization wide. Brian has a respectful way of guiding others to achieve great things, while holding us accountable in the process. And he always has the greater benefit of the team and mission in mind. The steadiness in Brian’s work and leadership have been a huge asset to our team, driving us towards achieving our organization’s strategic goals. There is no doubt that Brian is a huge reason why we are a high-performing team now.
