The Pacific Cinémathèque (now known as simply "The Cinémathèque") is a non-profit film society in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, that operates a 194 seat theater. The theater is a hub for supporting, curating and presenting all aspects of the cinematic arts. I worked in the in-house education department. My role included designing, overseeing, and delivering media literacy workshops in-house and throughout the Province. I gave formal lectures and private school workshops, and moderated Q + A sessions following film screenings. Presentations covered general topics in the dramatic arts (Buster Keaton and the "art of the gag") as well as specific artists, including the work of Roman Polanski, Sergei Eisenstein, and Samuel Beckett. Publication was also part of the Cinémathèque's mandate. While there I was in charge of editing two volumes on Western Canadian filmmakers: Loop, Print, Fade, + Flicker: David Rimmer’s Moving Images (2009) and Wild at Heart: The Films of Nettie Wild (2010).
