      Weather observing has been a daily occurrence since February 1, 1885 when Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory began recording the current state of the atmosphere. With more than 130 years of continuous daily weather observations, Blue Hill Observatory (BHO) is home to the country's longest continuously running climate record. BHO offers tours of the observatory which is on the National Registry of Historic Place, along with in house educational programs, and research and outreach opportunities for all lovers of weather, climate, kites and science!       At the "Home of the World's Worst Weather," Weather Observers at the non-profit Mount Washington Observatory carry on the tradition of recording and disseminating hourly weather observations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since they began in 1932. These observations add to of one of the longest, continuously-running climate records in all of North America in one of the most extreme environments in the world. Education Specialists connect the Observatory to the public through many educational offerings including: tours for day and overnight trips, media outreach and interviews for outlets such as The Weather Channel, CNN, Reuters and the Boston Globe, and also present in-classroom Distance Learning Programs using video-conferencing technology to classrooms the world over from the 6,288 foot summit of Mount Washington.
