As the OIC for the Marine Corps' Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) lab, I lead a team of 15 to determine how best to connect current programs of record with new and emerging technologies such that the Marine Corps can achieve data interoperability across the Department of Defense. This is the only team in the Marine Corps working on this problem, and our recommendations heavily influence how Marines will command and control in a Joint and Coalition environment. My team works very closely with research teams across the DoD and globe to provide innovative, cutting-edge capabilities to Marines at all echelons of command. As the OIC, my job is to be the technical director for this team while simultaneously serving as the public representative for our work. This role requires deep technical knowledge in the fields of networking, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence applications as well as strong public speaking skills. As a mid-grade Captain, I regularly meet with field-grade and general officers of all branches to demonstrate capabilities and provide education on what we can do as a service to better interoperate with our partners.
