Since late 2005, I have performed professionally in Southern Louisiana for a slew of different types of events and organizations. I have performed for musicals, cabaret shows, parades, receptions, wedding second lines, traditional and contemporary church services, funerals, corporate events, recording sessions, and a New Orleans Saints halftime show.While I thoroughly enjoy performing, I also see it as a form of education. Carrying on the traditions of musicians who came before, I strive to be as authentic as possible in each performance opportunity.

On a day-to-day basis, I tutor 3rd & 5th grade students in ELA and Math as well as 4th graders in Math Resource. I am also serving as the lunch detention, In School Suspension, and recess monitor. This position is a catch-all position that allows me to interact with nearly every student at my school.Though this position is not my normal setting in education, it has allowed me to bolster discipline skills. Also, I am gaining insight into details of math and ELA curriculums, which would only benefit my future endeavors as an educator and leader.

As Head Percussion Instructor, I instructed 20+ high school percussionists starting with auditions and ending with the close of their competition season. I was responsible for auditioning and placing members, composing the battery portion of their competition field show, running percussion sectionals, teaching playing and marching techniques, and overseeing the percussion student leaders. I helped the group finish 2nd in their class at the Louisiana Marching Band Circuit Championships in November 2014. They were also awarded Sweepstakes at the Louisiana Showcase of Marching Bands. I was proudly able to help the percussion section improve upon their section rating of a "2" in 2013, to a "1" in 2014.
