Bria Roberts has left an impactful and lasting impression on me. I had the absolute pleasure of not only working with Bria, but being within the same cohort with her during the Masters in Counseling program at Cal State Long Beach. She is confident, a critical thinker, is willing to take the road less traveled, and an advocate for many. While working with Bria at LA Harbor College, she was regularly implementing strategies and bridging gaps to increase the effectiveness of the program she worked for, which benefitted the students she was actively supporting. I admire her authenticity within this profession and the genuine support she offered me both in the workplace and educational setting. She makes an impact in the lives of the students she supports and I know she will continue to impact the lives of those she encounters, wherever that might be.

Serving as a component to the Enrollment and Retention project, I directly serve in assisting students with their academic progress recovery plan. Developing education plans that incorporate early intervention strategies for students who are prone to encountering barriers that impede academic success. In short, I educate students on resources available to them by the institution. This is followed by direct linkage to services and persistent follow-up on student outcomes.
