Indigenous Employment & Programs Manager

 Mentoring Indigenous Footballers involved in talent pathways in the NT.  Ensure all players are either at school, studying fulltime or working.  Seek employment for players, employment agencies, networks, centerlink etc.  Build partnerships with sponsors, government and networks through the Indigenous Employment Program.  Promote AFLNT, NT Thunder and The Indigenous Employment Program at a number of networking functions.  Complete 10 or more employment outcomes for Indigenous people involved in football in the NT.  Player Welfare Sub Committee Member.  Manage, plan, organise a number of carnivals for different age groups throughout the year. Involves delegation, consent from parents, flights, food, accommodation, apparel, staffing, guest speakers/presenters, training sessions and running game days.  Accompany selected Indigenous talent to National carnivals and events.

Indigenous Education Manager

 Mentoring Indigenous Students, total of 31 enrolled for 2009.  Liaise with teachers to ensure best practices are being used to improve outcomes for Indigenous students.  Manage and Develop timetables for Tutor’s to assist Indigenous students in class and in study at night.  Work in a team to develop Indigenous support programs within the school. E.g. Mentoring Program, Youth Night, Teachers Network Meeting, Implementation of The National Accelerated Literacy Program.  Provide relevant cultural advice to staff in school meetings.  Work closely with families in, accessing funding, schooling issues, programs available to assist their children/child’s progress.  Working with the following organisations/community groups: Ballarat Aboriginal Co-op, Local Aboriginal Education Consultive Group, CAHMS, Ballarat Health Services, Kangaroos FC (AFL), North Ballarat Football Club, Catholic Education Office, West Vic Workforce, Dare to Lead, Indigenous Youth Leadership Program, Centerlink and Abstudy.  Source funding and work as a team to fill out applications for the Indigenous Program.  Strong Interpersonal and administrative skills, email, telephone, excel, word, printers, fax, meetings
