During the operational phase of (games time), I undertook the role of a venue security manager for the Olympic village, vehicle search and pedestrian search areas. Pedestrian search areas screened more than 2.6 million persons and the vehicle search areas screened more than 10 000 vehicles pre and post the Olympics. Our team trained all security staff how to effectively use Rapid scan machines at vehicle search areas and pedestrian search areas and all actions on if any traces of nitrate were detected Our team trained all the security staff how to carry out vehicle searches and person searches. The security staff were trained in using two way radios, code words and also telescopic search cameras I was part of the test event planning team that started two years before the actual London Olympics taking place.
