I used such tools as OCLC WorldCat's database, Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), and Call Numbers (LCCN), Sierra LSP (ILS), and Subject Analysis techniques, to update bibliographic and item records, and create original bibliographic records in WorldCat from scratch. These materials were used by all of KSU's library branches. Well-versed in AACR2 and RDA cataloging standards. I also acted as a liaison between these branch librarians in updating the records of their material that may have been lost or outdated. Original bib records are below and used in OCLC's WorldCat. • Prop Database Administrator
      • Mar 2018 - Dec 2018

I had been given an assignment in creating an inventory sheet of the school's prop storage facility. Over time, I had created a working database that digitally represented the collection in a way that allowed users to explore the collection without having to travel to the facility. In order to better organize these materials, I have had to develop my own metadata schema in order to classify the props in a simple manner that fostered easier discoverability and searching by my clients and the school's patrons. I had also developed my own database of users and patrons who would enter their information in order to "check out" items from the facility. Combining this, with my schema and data tables, I had created my own Integrated Library System (ILS). Show less

Over the course of the production season, I facilitated the design, creation, and maintenance of stage props and furniture for multiple production shows. I also worked as a "Shopper" and Researcher in which I developed suggestions for purchasing items from retailers as well as generating documents of suggested time periods and ideas for my Prop Manager. In this position, I first started exploring an organization schema for theater props to better organize the festival's prop storage facility. I would expand on this concept when I became a Database Administrator/Architect for KSU School of Theater's own prop storage facility. Show less
