Jan 2004 - Feb 2012
Jan 2004 – 2012: For a decade I worked as a consultant under my own company delivering projects and results within various industries and managerial environments from highly changing and dynamic to routine and static: • Successfully Completed small to medium sized costing projects for Australian private hospitals (Mater QLD, Freemasons VIC, The Bays VIC and John James ACT) and a government agency (The Office of Registrars of Aboriginal Corporations). All organisation required very different activity models based on large sets of data • For a three year period I successfully managed an independent sales patch for Canon and Fuji Xerox (2005-2008). Direct sale of hardware and software led to the largest private deal for Fuji Xerox in Australian Capital Territory (A.C.T) • Successful Consultancy projects with Medicare Australia, Department of Human Services, and the Department of Health – A range of work from bespoke costing projects to business process analysis and successfully leading the roll out of the largest telephony system in Australia (Child Services Australia – Department of Human Services). • I Produced and own a 90 minute feature film entitled THE DINNER PARTY that has been distributed to DVD and cable channels in several countries – Available on Amazon Prime: Show less

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and the General Manager I also worked closely with all executive managers within the organisation on the following project: • Completed Fees and charges review for the industry – Several organisations were consolidated into one organisation requiring streamlining of fees and charges that ultimately had to cover the cost of running the organisation, and created an equitable fee structure across the different services. • Proficiently created of a cost and revenue model that required sensitive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including the Australian Cabinet. • Achieved ministerial approved and legislated fees, tariffs and pricing structures. All stakeholders were happy with the outcome as we achieved financial equity across the services and a future tariff plan. Show less

Head of the Private Sector National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC)
-
Jul 1999 - Aug 2004
After two years working within the costing team I was then given the opportunity to manage the Private Sector NHCDC across Australia. I achieved an 80% increase in private hospital participation over the two years I was in charge. As Head I was responsible for the following: • Running and organising a national hospital training curriculum that covered the costing software and the costing methodologies involved. When organisations became confident with our methods, they participated. I successfully marketed the benefits of involvement and filled training rooms across Australia • Technical lead on the management and construction of over 100 hospital’s costing’s that contributed to the data collection that ultimately formed the basis of tariff and funding structures across the Australian health landscape. • Training and managing a team of 12 people in the costing software and the costing methodologies. • Successfully creating and published the Round 5 and Round 6 Australian NHCDC Cost Weights. • Initiating and completing the production of more accurate NHCDC cost allocation methodologies such as the creation of Same Day / Multi Day cost weights. Work conducted with AXA Insurance to provide alternative funding tariffs that were required for a changing industry. These results are still used in 2018. • Conducting training courses internally for the private sector and the public sector of the NHCDC for 2000 - 2002. This was done for Departmental staff and international delegations from Japan, Germany, and Singapore and the Case-mix conference 2002. Show less
