I recently had the good fortune to work with Brendan in multi-agency crisis communications cell supporting a major event. He was professional, courteous and measured at all times; interacted very well with other partners in the group and was always clear about how the activities he was responsible for met his organisation’s strategic goal. When an change occurred in an overarching strategy that impinged on his planned activities he questioned it in support of his stakeholders’ goals in a tenacious but courteous way and, when he understood the importance of the change, worked with good humour to support the new approach and redeploy his own assets. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Brendan and would love to do so again one day.

Brendan was a highly motivated and details driven supervisor who fostered similar qualities in his team. Brendan articulated his intent clearly and without ambiguity. I always felt supported under his leadership and was confident that he would back my own command decisions.
