Brendan and I worked together in a variety of different capacities spanning 12 years. First as partners (Finance and Operations) in an Artisan Bread operation and lastly as counterparts covering a larger group of multi-category bakeries in North America. Throughout this time, Brendan has always exhibited an unmatched work ethic, collaborative mind, and positive attitude. He was the first Operations partner I worked with who really showed me the ropes and embraced Finance as a business partner. Expenditure for the project was overall $50MM+. • Increased original bakery capacity by 40% without changing out the existing plant base process lines which were present in the plant from its inception and with minimal capital input. Capital Expenditure spend on this project achieved ROI of 3yrs or less. • Oversaw generation of $600K to $1MM sustainable savings annually through optimizations, saving $968K in 2014-2015. • Assessed systems and efficiencies in the Van Nuys bakery from the outset with a view to improvement. Introduced systems to improve business management. • Served as interim GM for four months in newly purchased bakery in La Mirada until new GM was hired. • Established a strong, self-motivated management team, with a number of key members promoted to important positions within the Aryzta group. • Facilitated seamless installation of initially Movex and subsequently SAP business management systems into the bakery. • Plant achieved Superior grade for AIB firstly and NSF subsequently; continuously from 2004 to 2011. From 2011 to present achieved uninterrupted BRC Grade A and then Grade AA. • Filled interim Bakery Director role for the Los Angeles Fresh Bakery production unit between 2006 and 2008, while also holding responsibility for Van Nuys site; establishing complimentary management principles across sites, creating structure to manage the site independently. • Undertook caretaker GM role in NJ bakery between GM’s on two occasions between 2003 and 2005. • Participated actively in Swedesboro bakery new management transition from July 2017 to March 2018.
