Jonathan’s Place is e a safe place that provides loving homes for abused, abandoned, or neglected children, teens, and young adults. Within their mission, they have the Emergency Shelter which essentially provides residential care and specialized services to newborns and children up to 18 years old. As an intern here I have been able to encounter different situations where I am able to apply and put my skills to test. I have been able to shadow different case workers and assist them in home studies/visits. Lastly, I have also been able to attend and take different trainings with foster parents to further understand child welfare and the process of becoming a foster parent. Show less
