Probation Officer
-
Dec 2008 - Present
Prior to my educational leave of absence, I supervised a caseload of 75 offenders serving 2 years less a day for various offences such as theft, assault, assault with a weapon and fraud. I supervised offenders on probation orders as well as conditional sentence orders, which are jail sentences served in the community. I was one of the conditional sentence calculation experts, not only in my office, but provincially as well. Two years ago I was seconded in my office to implement and conduct several conditional sentence orientation sessions with new and current staff and supervisors on conditional sentence calculations. Prior to my leave of absence, I was on the case management team where I completed case plans on offenders, wrote conditional sentence breaches, dealt with numerous stakeholders on a daily basis and met with clients regularly as per their assessed risk level in the community. It was a challenging and fast-based environment where managing and mitigating crises occurred almost daily. Show less

Administrative Assistant
-
Jul 2006 - Dec 2008
I was an administrative assistant with the Ministry of Justice, working at the Crown Prosecutor's Office in the Saskatoon Provincial Court building. I worked primarily on the bail desk where I was in charge of compiling all the files from the arrest list for the docket prosecutor as well as the custodial files for bail hearings. Given it was located in the Provincial Court Building, it was a fast-paced environment. I dealt with numerous stakeholders daily, such as defence lawyers, court clerks, probation, Legal Aid, the RCMP, the Saskatoon City Police, Victim Services and offenders. Show less
