· Macro algae aquaculture to study the production of food grade agar from Gracilaria verrucosa (G-16), published results of that study - Daugherty, B.K. and Bird, K.T., 1988. Salinity and temperature effects on agar production from Gracilaria verucosa Strain G-16. Aquaculture, 75: 105-113.· Shellfish aquaculture, in charge of microalgae production to support clam and oyster aquaculture for the largest shellfish hatchery in Florida. Maintained sterile cultures of 4 different species of microalgae in addition to large scale production up to 30,000 gallons to support the grow our portion of the hatchery. Assisted in all areas of the project including, what was at the time, the development of cutting edge technology for the production of clams (Mercenaria mercenaria) and clutchless oysters (Crassostrea virginica).
