Our goal is to bridge the gap between the support students receive in schools and what type of support these students actually need. We work in high-poverty areas and aim to raise the graduation rate in 31 different locations worldwide. We focus on helping students see the importance in the ABC's of school: attendance, behavior and coursework. I gradually took the role of the teacher in a self-contained K-5 classroom and a high school, resource Algebra I class. I was responsible for writing lesson plans, including differentiation techniques and having some sort of formal or informal assessment to complete the lesson. During my solo weeks, I had to collect data before hand, teach lessons then grade the final assessment and compare student data. As an assistant manager, I had to: manage employee breaks, train new employees, count the drawer at the end of the nigh and report how the store did for the day as well as open and close the store.
