  As an Infrastructure Solution Architect within Suncorp Bank BT (Project Ignite) I was responsible for delivering the underlying infrastructure platform to replace Suncorp's legacy mainframe banking platform. My role was a mix of design and documentation as well as hands on engineering within the Oracle / RHEL / OEL platform.I was required to gather detailed and complex requirements from both business and technical stakeholders, such as application platform Solution Architects, and turn these requirements into solutions to be delivered within project delivery timeframes. My role was responsible for delivering solutions that complied with Suncorp architectural standards, technical security standards and to ensure the appropriate level of infrastructure technical governance was applied to the banking platform.I was a member of the team responsible for design and delivery of the first three Oracle Banking production platforms (and approx thirty pre-production platforms) in a staged rollout on Oracle Exalogic, Exadata hardware and the Amazon AWS cloud platform. I wrote the Ansible / Python automation code used to both build Suncorp Oracle Banking Platform regions within Amazon AWS and to automate BAU management tasks.As a Suncorp BT team we were expected to deliver solutions through Agile methodologies.Suncorp platforms / technologies I represented to Ignite Platform:- Network security (Layer 3 network technologies including F5 load balancing devices, PaloAlto firewalls)- Network Transport (Layer 2 core networking)- Identity (authentication / authorisation on Oracle Identity Platform)- Cloud services, both internal cloud and vendor services such as Amazon AWS- Midrange (shared hosting platform for RHEL / OEL hosts)- Group Security- Shared Storage- Monitoring and alerting- Systems Management (batch scheduling etc)- Weblogic middleware design and implementation

  As a Solution Architect within Suncorp I was responsible for end to end architecture of complex programs of work. The role required a broad knowledge of infrastructure platforms, software and concepts as well as the ability to clearly communicate complex and intricate concepts to application SME's and business stakeholders.The Solution Architect role provided a framework, including solution design, strategy & roadmaps that enabled Suncorp BT to deliver ongoing value to the business by ensuring that domains, technology platforms and applications were designed to best practices standards and that reusable architectures were implemented and properly documented. I worked within a virtual team to see projects progress through the various phases of concept, initiation, design and implementation. During the project initiation phase I lead both technical and functional sessions where business requirements were drawn out through consultation with applications teams and business analysts. A high level design would be produced and presented to the wider Enterprise Services community where it was critiqued and amended as required. I worked with project managers and resource teams to accurately cost the work which would then move to an implementation phase. I produced various artefacts during these phases including high level designs, one page overviews for the business and detailed design documents that captured all elements of the design process.
