During my first year of training, I have learned and mastered microsurgical techniques for cell transplantation, auxiliary partial liver transplantation, and different degrees of hepatectomies and established the care and maintenance of immunocompromised rodents. Specifically, I have developed skills and a deep understanding on liver regeneration and liver repopulation using a diversity of tools (e.g. gene expression analysis, immunohistochemistry, cell isolations, hepatic functional assays, etc). My current project involves the study of different regenerative stimulus models in rodents and the role of specific genes expressed in hepatocytes involved in the response to liver regeneration. I administered my own projects and have mastered all the techniques and critical thinking necessary to successfully complete the proposed project. Show less
