I first met Brandon when he transferred to CWU from the University of Washington in early 2018. Brandon was seeking opportunities to get involved on campus and it was clear during my initial meeting this gifted and talented student would make the most of his CWU experience. Through service to CWU, Brandon has brought an energy and passion which has had a direct impact his fellow peers. He took that energy and dutifully represented the institution as a member and Chair of the ASCWU Elections Commission and Services & Activities Fee Committee. In all of these roles, Brandon was beyond dependable and brought a positive energy to our work space serving as a Senior Student Engagement Coordinator. During his service to the Office of Student Involvement he helped to create and implement policies to help provide resources to clubs and mitigate risk when traveling. His dedication can be seen in a variety of ways including the increase in students running for ASCWU Student Government and an increase in voter turnout that has stagnant for years. Showcasing Brandon’s involvement with committees would be enough to provide clear examples that he target centric and dependable, but he has extended his involvement even further during his time as a Wildcat by being an active member of KCWU 88.1 The Burg Radio and several clubs where he is able to provide leadership to his peers. Brandon has a strong level of commitment towards his academics and understands how his experience as a CWU student plays into a global perspective of diversity and social justice initiatives most specifically through his involvement in the Cross Cultural Leadership Program. This is a multi-year cohort based program that immerses students in local, national and international diversity and inclusion opportunities. In his time as a Wildcat Brandon has tutored, mentored, lead, inspired, volunteered, motivated, grown, developed, transformed and much more. Quite honestly it would be impossible to put all of Brandon’s achievements and impacts in one letter. His reach can best be seen when you see him speak with students. He brings a sense of calm in difficult situations and is a catalyst for change. Brandon truly puts the students at the forefront of his decision making and it shows in his development as an undergraduate student. His sense of pride is unlike any other and his passion for success sets him apart from the rest. There is no doubt that Brandon’s method and intentionality will add great volume to any organization. I know what it is like to take on many roles, but to see that same kind of commitment in an undergraduate student like Brandon has inspired me. Brandon is a pacesetter in every sense of the word. It is people like Brandon who activate the most change and make the greatest impact and I am happy to have worked with him and call him a close friend. I am available to answer any questions about Brandon and thank you for the opportunity to provide this recommendation.
