Brandon is an exceptional software engineer, whose work ethic reflects both passion and professionalism. He is a team player, considerate of his colleagues and willing to collaborate, open to sharing his knowledge as well as learning from others. He is a problem solver, applying creative and logical thinking to come up with robust solutions. At Tachyon, Brandon’s primary role was designing and developing a new PHP based modular web services framework for a next generation software platform. In doing so, he introduced the use of MySQL for configuration management, designed an XML schema for and implemented system configuration persist and restore processes, added capabilities such as dynamic HTML generation and user access control for the web-based user interface, and developed front end support for managing network configuration on Linux. Brandon’s valued contributions, however, were not limited to the web services framework. As he welcomed the opportunity to be engaged in system level concept definition and design efforts, he helped define the system startup process, the software upgrade and downgrade process, and the overall file system architecture. In short, it was a pleasure working with Brandon. I would welcome the opportunity to do so again in the future.

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Brandon. Brandon worked for me in the Network Operations dept at WFI for 2 years. He began there as Intern, and after several promotions, ended his service as NOC Analyst. While working with Brandon, I interacted frequently with him and depended on him. Very goal oriented, Brandon was always punctual, yet easygoing. He was keenly devoted to his work, but being a real people person, he was also enjoyable to be around. Brandon demonstrated from early on that he understood what business is all about. He was well organized and thrived under adversity. He kept a sharp eye on the bottom line, but realized too that customer satisfaction is what makes or breaks your business. I suppose doing well in business is easy if you are, as he was, driven in equal measure by both quality and efficiency. In closing, let me say I have no hesitation in recommending Brandon Lyon for any position pertaining to software development. I feel confident he would be an asset to your organization.
