Quantitative, computational, renal histopathology. Automation of renal histopathology, using image processing, segmentation, pattern recognition for biomedical data, and machine learning. Developing an automated, digital computational tool capable of quantifying diverse biological compartments from highly heterogeneous renal tissues in both healthy and disease mouse models. Overall aim is to improve the speed and quality of care for patients in clinic with renal diseases by reducing biopsy examination time; as well as to reduce the massive economic burden on the healthcare system stemming from renal medicine, pushing towards a stronger healthcare system in the United States.
