Responsible for reaching 100% close of file on total loss automotive loans per month, using a four-line capability hard phone. Filing/Applying for paper repossessions in a very short period of time to guarantee a close on the loan before the date of charge off. Time management and business analysis was crucial in this job function. Daily touch-base with debtor to verify POA documents have been signed, property damage appraisals were completed, the salvage was received by insurance company or repossessed, and Gap insurance claims were filed. If any of these action items were not complete, responsible for completing them on the lien holder’s end. Motivating the debtor to continue making the monthly installment payments while without a vehicle pending the insurance claim. Strong communication skills were vital in educating the debtor, and maintaining payment on the account. Responsible for handling arbitrary account specifics, such as low-value settlements, settlements less salvage, 2nd lien holder claims, settlements with title imperfections, etc. Building cases surrounding arson and theft claims that are under investigation with the insurance company. This required skip tracing and fact finding both, from the insurance company and from the debtor(and company), to decide whether HSBC would continue to pursue the claim or abandon the vehicle and charge off the loan.
