Assisted a graduate student with a thesis by examining the pores of carbonate sediments in the Maldives. Used JMicroVision to differentiate and break up pore types into percentages in hopes of establishing a relationship between pore size as well as pore type to environmental deposition to better understand the nature of carbonate deposition. In the end, the data from JMicroVsion was tabulated and concluded that pore size decreased with depth, and that JMicroVision could not be used to quantitatively account for the relationship between pore type and depth.
