Construction Safety Intern
-
Jun 2014 - Jun 2015
WorkWISE NH is New Hampshire’s OSHA Consultation group based out of Keene State College. During the internship I performed safety and health inspections for companies and organizations (specifically construction companies) all over the state. I also helped to provide companies and organizations with answers to questions they may have about specific hazards on their site, as well as answering any Safety and Health Program questions that they may have. Over the course of the summer and fall semester I have helped to identify over 300 "Serious" hazards on over 60 different construction sites. The abatement of these hazards helped to prevent serious injury or even death to over 7,000 workers in the State of New Hampshire.

This internship was over my spring break during the month of March in 2014. The project the construction of a down stream production facility being built for Genzyme. This facility was meant to produce their unique enzyme called "Frabrazyme" that is used to treat an orphan disease know as Fabry Disease. During my short stay, I participated in two construction accident investigations with top members of site management. I also preformed multiple inspections with the field safety officer, and the US safety director for M+W at the time.
