I was the senior postdoc within the Molecular Motors group, which uses advanced microscopy techniques to probe the function of the Bacterial Flagellar Motor and ATP Synthase, two of nature's rotary motors. My main project involved building and maintaining microscopes, developing analysis software, and then collecting and analysing experimental data to learn about stepping within the Bacterial Flagellar Motor (BFM).I was also heavily involved in developing microscopes and quantitative modelling and analysis software. These have been used for other projects related to stepping in ATP Synthase, switching in the BFM, compliance of the flagellar hook, walking of Kinesin, and stoichiometry and turnover measurements of the BFM as well as the injectisome and some cell division proteins.
