Brad started in October 2019 to lead the NSW Specialist recruitment Team. At the time we had been losing money and I couldn’t see very much a future for myself and our NSW team. Brad turned this around through his extensive Industry experience, his recruitment intelligence and ABSOLUTELY knowing what worked and what didn’t work in recruitment. He was razor sharp in cutting costs. Quickly. He also identified that we needed to focus on our strengths. It meant losing several close colleagues and friends who were unfortunately not covering costs, performance managing a number of other team members to improve and encouraging and supporting our best Billers to do better. Brad introduced weekly meetings, daily phone check ins and a couple of key KPI’s. We focused all our efforts on a few key verticals, Business Support, Accounting, IT and Engineering. We all knew exactly what we had to do. He empowered each and every one of the team. He took ownership of the team’s results. As a team we started to support each other and encourage each other to do better. I felt like a part of a winning team, a part of something special. The NSW team was soon firing on all cylinders, we returned to profitability after a decade of loss. This was direct result of Brads leadership, recruitment knowledge, fearlessness in making decisions and having fun along the way. He personally assisted me with key negotiations with a large global client. He pushed back on their low margins and fought for every dollar. He taught me to focus on key candidates. He taught me to specialise in a couple of key areas. He helped me to significantly grow my desk and billings. Brad left the NSW team in June 2021 to take his family onto their next adventure in the UK. I will always be grateful for Brad’s support, knowledge and courage in taking myself, my colleagues and our NSW team on such an incredibly rewarding and satisfying recruitment journey.
