Rock water 1: 98m, 4905 gross tonnes, DP3 class, Dive support vessel (Single bell), 5 x bronze MAN 16afl 1750 KW diesel electric generators. This was my first vessel and I learn a lot as this was the oldest vessel within the fleet at the time and Working on this vessel gave me experience with retrofitted machinery and older out of circulation machinery. Seven Atlantic: 145m DP3 class, Dive support vessel ( twin bell ), 120 t crane, 6 x Wartsila W7L32 diesel 3360 KW electric generators, Engine cadet, assisted the third engineers onboard with the routine maintenance of the vessel and the 12000H overhaul of the main generators. Seven Kestrel: (Newbuild), 125m, DP3 class, Dive support vessel ( twin bell), 120 crane, 6 x Hyundai Himsen 9H25/33 2700KW diesel electric generators. The time aboard this vessel was different to previous vessels as this was a new build. I worked on nearly all of the systems aboard and on this vessel I took over the routine maintenance. Seven borealis: 182m, S-lay/J-lay (pipe lay ) heavy lift construction vessel, 5000T crane, 6 Rolls-Royce B32:40V12A 5750KW diesel electric generators( capable of burning IFO & MGO) . Engine cadet but was able to take over responsibilities of a third engineer, undertaking all routine maintenance (PM jobs). I was able to undertake overhauls of machinery and routine tasks aboard this vessel under the chief engineer's instruction. Furthermore I was part of the team to assist in a major overhaul of a generator set Seven Arctic: 162m, heavy lift/ flex lay vessel, 6 x Hyundai Himsen 9H32/40 4500KW diesel electric generators (capable of burning IFO &MGO) . Being a state of the art vessel every system and valve aboard the vessel from bilge to chillers could be operated locally or by used of Kongsberg interfaces in the Engine control room. This in turn bang about a new way of operation and skills to develop as you were able to monitor and trend machinery in the ECR in real time. Show less
