Founding 10th grade chemistry teacher in 2016. This was the first year the course was taught at the school, as the school had been founded only one year prior. Oversaw initial equipment ordering and organization for laboratory materials. In collaboration with science team, developed and implemented chemistry curriculum aligned to the AP and SAT II standards. Continued role for 3 years. Later was the founding teacher for an AP Chemistry course and similarly oversaw curriculum development for that as well. Founding teacher for Honors Python Programming, which was a course designed for 11th and 12th grade students in their third year of computer science. The course was developed in collaboration with Boston University faculty and aligned to the standards of their first semester course for computer science majors. Also taught AP Computer Science Principles for students in their second year of computer science. In 2018, won 3rd place in the Lynn Hall Teacher Action Research Prize at the Yale School of Management's Education Leadership Conference. This was a national contest in which teachers could submit a paper explaining research they had undertaken and implemented in their classrooms. The topic of the prize was a paper titled "Collaboration in Chemistry: Using Daily Discussion to Increase Student Understanding," and explained a discussion-based teaching method I had developed and studied in my 10th grade classes. Founded a varsity wrestling team and served as its head coach for 4 seasons. Also oversaw fundraising events and opportunities for the athletic department. In an average year, fundraised approximately $1000 worth of equipment for the school, and also hosted 3-4 events typically raising about $1000 each as well. Served as the event coordinator for these fundraising events, and managed a team of 8-14 people. Show less
