    • In-Store Marketing Procurement: Logistics
      • Aug 2004 - May 2016

The bulk of my career has been on the Logistics side of the In-Store Marketing team and over my time here I've had different titles - Coordinator; Analyst; Trainer - along with a Sr. in there along the way. The simple description is that I ensured each Target store received the correct signing package each and every transition for my departments (I've handled most areas of the store at one time or another). Of course it's not that simple - I had to use many programs, and work with many groups often with ambiguity, to ensure efficiency reigned supreme. I was very, very efficient in my distributions of signing and eventually was promoted to Sr. Analyst/Trainer for the team where I created, maintained, and led training strategy and materials. Also, as our Target India team grew I was selected to be the liaison of our U.S. based team and traveled to Bangalore, India on three occasions to conduct training in person. On top of those functions I was an analyst - ensuring the constant flow of signing into and out of our warehouse was efficiently maintained. Meaning I needed to have enough signing on hand for our stores to use, but to also ensure I was not throwing away large amounts of signing (which equals money) or leaving old signing sit in the warehouse (which also equals money).

    • Marketing Finance Expense Coordinator
      • Dec 2002 - Aug 2004

This was the entry level position I had when joining Target. My main function was to process invoices for each vendor that the Marketing teams worked with. This is where I learned to build relationships and trust, because I had to constantly communicate with internal and external partners. I also was able to get more involved in our Community Relations grant process, making it more efficient to track and pay them out. This is also where I learned to be more analytical by viewing and researching various reports for the teams I worked with.

Aloe Up, while I was there, was a small company providing golf courses, ski resorts, and promotion companies high quality sunscreen products. I was the guy shipping each and every order that came through on a daily basis. Supervising part-time workers during peak times of shipping was also common. I also was involved in procurement, as I compared costs of cartons, packing materials, and freight to negotiate new contracts for those goods and services.
