• My role as a sailing instructor required significant hands on, practical and classroom teaching to a cross section of people of varying ages. This required an excellent, dynamic and flexible approach. • I was responsible for welfare, risk assessment and most importantly ensuring that my students achieved their goals and enjoyed the learning experience. • My performance as an instructor, my previous office experience and commercial drive led to my promotion to become office manager within the school. • The office management experience included all customer facing roles and the additional organisational responsibilities of the back office functions of the business. • I was given day-to-day operational control and under my leadership the business achieved improved student numbers, which flowed through into improvements in the overall performance of the school and its finances during this period.
