We help analytics teams make their technology faster by giving them visibility into the behavior of their entire stack, from infrastructure->apps and data creation->data consumption. With better visibility into their complex systems, analytics teams can: - respond to changes in system behavior before problems arise, - better allocate budgets, by knowing where the growing pains are, - resolve user-facing issues in a fraction of the time it took before, and - stay on top of the health of their stack, even with the added complexity of Cloud/SaaS dependencies. I help students be better prepared to analyze and communicate their research findings by showing them fundamentals of visual analytics using Tableau Desktop. InterWorks, Inc. provides IT Infrastructure services and Data & Analytics services around the world to companies of all sizes. There may be other companies providing similar services, but InterWorks clients appreciate what makes InterWorks different: sure, we have deep and broad technical expertise... but our REAL focus is on the people. It's been a great pleasure to be involved in so many different aspects of our clients' organizations: IT Project Management - I believe that technology should _solve_ our problems, not cause more of them. To help realize that vision, I focused on clearing any roadblocks that kept projects from succeeding - technical and non-technical alike. At any given point, I was tracking progress against many dozens of projects, and heavily and actively involved our larger ones. Tableau Server (and occasionally Tableau Desktop) Training - I had the privilege of being the most tenured Tableau Server Architecture and Administration instructor in the world, until passing the torch to colleagues 2017. With consistently high ratings from my students, I've been accused of "explaining deeply technical things in ways that are very easy to understand," as well as being "very helpful." Tableau Server Solutions Architecture and Consulting - In a quest to help people see and understand their data, I helped ensure their Tableau Server environment was on a strong foundation. I've had the pleasure of working with many of the world's largest companies to architect, optimize, scale, load test, manage and maintain their Tableau Server environments. These experiences helped guide numerous whitepapers, articles, and presentations I authored/co-authored -- several of which are still referenced today. IT Infrastructure, Virtualization, and Storage Solutions Architecture - I helped our clients' IT organizations collect and interpret their infrastructure performance data so they could be confident in their investments in new IT infrastructure. That's quite a title they had! Basically, I was in the Gold/Platinum Enterprise Server Support group. I helped quickly and accurately resolve issues with customers' Dell servers by using a methodical approach that removed all the guesswork, allowing our customers to get back to the more interesting things they were doing.
