Dette er baggrunden for, at Lars Løkke Rasmussen i 2012 stiftede LøkkeFonden med ønsket om at bringe drenge væk fra kanten og ind i fællesskabet. Fonden er uafhængig, almennyttig og med en frivillig bestyrelse. Med opbakning fra dansk erhvervsliv, førende forskere og praktikere udvikler LøkkeFonden derfor projekter, hvor udfordrede drenge lærer at skabe resultater for sig selv. Projekternes formål vil altid være at ruste og motivere til at få en uddannelse eller et arbejde ved at genskabe motivation, lærelyst, faglighed og personlighed. LøkkeFonden skaber synlighed omkring drengeproblemet – samtidig med at den valide viden, som projekterne genererer, udbredes til skoler, kommuner og samfundet generelt.
