  As a trainer and mentor my main responsibilities revolve around ensuring staff are ready to enter their new role within Cardiff Council. Training can be for various teams such as office based staff as well as face to face based staff. While being responsible for writing and delivering training I am also responsible for taking any queries or issues that staff may have whether this is with a customer or queries regarding our in house systems. I am also responsible for the development and growth of several teams within Cardiff Council, providing them with training from myself or organising external training for them to attend. I am also responsible for quality checks on the teams I am responsible for.

  As a Benefit Assessor it was my duty to assess claimant’s Housing Benefit claims and any changes that might take place such as changes in earnings, capital, and household makeup. While assess these changes I would also take queries over the phone from customers as well as other assessors.

  While a Landlord Liaison Assistant I would take calls and emails from private landlords who had not received rental payments from their tenants who were in receipt of Housing Benefit and conducting an investigation as to why. At the end of the investigation it would be my responsibility to either have the Housing Benefit paid directly to the landlord or the Housing Benefit remain being paid to the tenant.
