Boon Kiat has always displayed very positive disposition in his studies and towards his lecturers. An outstanding and high-achieving student, he was awarded the Director's Honours List for two consecutive years and graduated with a Diploma with Merit, with is only awarded to the top 5% of the cohort. Besides academic pursuits, Boon Kiat is highly involved in the school's extra-curricular activities. Other than being the Honorary Secretary and then a Mentor of the Hospitality and Tourism Interest Group, he was the President of Temasek Polytechnic's Changi Youth Ambassador, a collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, where he was based at Changi Airport to assist travellers. During his stint, Boon Kiat received many commendations and compliments which eventually earned him Temasek Polytechnic's first Outstanding Changi Youth Ambassador of the year award. Given his exemplary achievements, Boon Kiat was selected as Temasek Polytechnic's Valedictorian for 2007. For his 20 week attachment, despite several offers coming his way, Boon Kiat decided to join Cathay Pacific Airways as a Sales & Marketing Intern. During the internship, Boon Kiat was give the opportunity to be in the planning of several projects and negotiating with various suppliers. This exposure equipped him with excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and provided him with the change to apply what he learnt in school to the real world. Boon Kiat's performance during his internship was highly commended by both his supervisor and the Country Manager of Cathay Pacific Singapore, who awarded his efforts with a complimentary ticket to Hong Kong. With his eager attitude and his knowledge skills, I can safely say that Boon Kiat will definitely succeed in our competitive industry and will be an asset to any organisation that he chooses to join.
