      Booker was the key individual in the development of the electrophysiology program. He helped in the development and in the implementation of catheter ablation at UCSF. Booker has designed electrodes and equipment that is currently in use in operating rooms for patient with serious heart rhythm disorders.Booker's most important important technical achievement was the development of a device which allows for delivery of low energy direct current shocks directly to the heart, "The Booker box"
