Cancer can be treated, with limited success rates, using immunotherapy based (antibodies and vaccines) and non-immunotherapy based methods (radiation, chemotherapy, drugs, surgery). We were using synthetic biology methods to treat cancer. Our lab was working on ways to detect and respond to cancer signals by reprogramming immune cells using post translational circuits. I was working on ways to activate the immune response against tumorigenesis. • Overall, we were working on a device that can measures fluorescence intensity using 1.35 microLiters of sample.• My subproject was determining the limit of detection and dynamic range of a microfluidic immunoassay. The limit of detection is the minimum fluorescence that can be detected and the dynamic range is the range of fluorescence intensities that can be distinguished.
